Formula & Calculation Methodology

Monthly Employee contribution (12% of Basic) + Employer EPF contribution (3.67%) compounded annually at 8.25% p.a.

A = P(1 + r/n)^{nt}

Step-by-Step Worked Example

Monthly Basic Salary: ₹40,000 | Age: 25 to 58 (33 Years) | Initial Balance: ₹50,000 | Annual Increment: 5% | Rate: 8.25%

  1. Employee Monthly Share (12%) = ₹4,800 | Employer EPF Share (3.67%) = ₹1,468
  2. Total Monthly PF Inflow = ₹6,268 (escalates 5% annually)
  3. Total Cumulative Contributions = ₹68,43,120
  4. Total Interest Compounded = ₹1,29,54,320
  5. Total Retirement PF Corpus at Age 58 = ₹1,98,47,440 (~₹1.98 Crore)
Result: Total Contributions: ₹68.4 Lakhs | Interest Earned: ₹1.30 Crore | Maturity Corpus: ₹1.98 Crore
